Mi rollo es el Indie te presenta a LAND LOVERS

¡Hola!,

To begin, I apologise for not writing in Spanish, but I'd probably confuse you if I tried!

I'm writing to you to make you aware of Land Lovers, a band I play in from Dublin, Ireland. I'm contacting people who have put out broadly indie-pop compilations in the past, on a regular basis or might be interested in doing so. Perhaps some people will be interested in including Land Lovers on a comp at some stage - that's my motive here.
First off, there's a playlist of 3 songs here, and we'd be happy to have you use any one of these tracks:

I suppose a brief band biography would help, so here's one:

Land Lovers have notions on being a pop band. They come from the tail-end of 2008, where they are about to release the lo-fi, homespun album Romance Romance. That album is, in fact, a solo effort by Pádraig Cooney. A band was put together to play the songs live, and this line-up quickly produced the Immovable Feet EP in 2009, followed by Yuletide Miscellany, an odds-and-ends download release. They have arrived here in 2011 with their second full-length album in line for an autumn release and a single, The Cinema Bell, in virtual stores from April.

They remind some folk of XTC, or Television, or Elvis Costello & the Attractions. One of the things they do, as founder members of the Popical Island collective, is to help with its various undertakings, like arranging the monthly Popicalia night and assisting with other releases. They had a song on the much-loved compilation Popical Island #1 last summer and Cooney wrote The High Line, a Christmas single by The Popical Island Showband (an 18-piece 'wall of sound'). They played at the 'prestigious' (that's what they call it) Electric Picnic festival last year and claim it was “good fun”. They've also supported an odd assortment of international luminaries, such as The Mantles, Nodzz, Stornoway and The Wave Pictures.

Land Lovers' album (Romance Romance) and EP (Immovable Feet) are available to download free of charge at landloversmusic.bandcamp.com.

Here lie the band members:
Pádraig Cooney - Guitar & vocals, Ciarán Canavan - Guitar & vocals, Shane Murphy - Bass, Cormac Hughes - Keyboards & vocals, Brian Lynch - Drums
